Saints celebrated on the 24th of June
WELCOME!
RICHARD DE BURGUNDIA, BISHOP AND MARTYR
Richard, remembered on June 24, was probably a native of Burgundy, and hence is called de Burgundia. He entered the Order of the Friars Minor, went to Tartary as a missionary, became Bishop of Armalech (Episcopus Armalecanus, Eiscopus Civitatis Armalech in Tartaria) and, on the feast of Saint John the Baptist in 1352, was cruelly murdered for his faith along with several other brothers.
