SAINT CLOTSINDE, ABBESS

Saint Clotsinde (Clotsenda, Clotscudis), commemorated on June 30, a virgin and abbess of Marchiennes (Marchianum) in Flanders, was the daughter of Saint Rictrudis (May 12), who was also abbess there, and whom she succeeded in this office in 688. She died around 703 and was buried in Marchiennes.
