Saints celebrated on the 19th of May
Saint Theodore (Theodorus) was bishop of Lucca from the year 324 onwards. Historians describe him as a very pious and zealous man: "From childhood, he strove to lead an immaculate life and to imitate the examples of the holy apostles and martyrs." As bishop, he offered most fatherly care to the poor and needy, striving to accommodate both their bodily and spiritual needs, which was often accompanied by miracles. Signs and wonders through Saint Theodore's intercession continued even after his untimely death.
