Saints celebrated on the 3rd of October
WELCOME!
BLESSED COLUMBA MARMION, ABBOT
Blessed Columba Marmion (born April 1, 1858) was an Irishman who became a Benedictine of the Abbey of Maredsous in Belgium. A great teacher, preacher and writer whose spiritual works have become Christian classics, he was beatified by Pope Saint John Paul II on September 3, 2000. Blessed Columba went to his eternal reward on January 30, 1923. In Ireland, his feast day is celebrated on October 3.
PRAYER:
God, Father Almighty, who called Blessed Columba Marmion to the monastic way of life, and opened to him the secrets of Christ's mysteries; look with favour on us who serve you, and graciously grant, through his intercession, that, strengthened by the Spirit of adoption to sonship, we may merit to become a worthy dwelling place for your wisdom. Through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit, God, for ever and ever. Amen.
