Saints celebrated on the 11th of October
WELCOME!
Born in the early 6th century, Saint Canice (Canicus) (Cainnech of Aghaboe) (Kenny) joined Saint Finian's monastic school at Clonard as a pupil. He was one of the students who became known as the Twelve Apostles of Ireland. In 565, Saint Canice went on to become a friend and disciple of Saint Columba in Scotland. He is called Saint Kenneth in Scotland. He founded the church of Kilkenny and died about the year 600.
PRAYER:
O God of mercy, in joy and in sorrow, turn our minds and hearts to you, and with the abbot Saint Canice to plead for us, grant that nothing, in life or in death, may sever us from your love. Through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit, ine God, for ever and ever. Amen.
