ALL SAINTS CELEBRATED IN OCTOBER
Saints celebrated on the 2nd of October
WELCOME!
Saint Agletrudis, whose feast day is October 2, and also June 27, was the daughter of Saint Bavo (commemorated on October 1). It is said that she influenced her father, who had been leading a highly dissolute lifestyle, to be brought onto a better path.
This Agletrudis is probably one and the same person as the holy lady venerated on March 19 who is mentioned among the companions of Saint Landoald. According to Bucelin*, who lists her name on June 27, Agletrudis was particularly invoked by the faithful in and around Ghent (Gandavum) in Belgium. According to the same author, this saint was a nun and died in 640.
