ROUAUD, BISHOP OF VANNES
Rouaud (Roaudus), remembered on March 23, as well as June 26 and October 22, who is also spelled Ruandus and Rothaldus, started off as a Cistercian and later became Bishop of Vannes (Vennetum) in Brittany. He is said to have died at an advanced age in 1177. The Bollandists* list this holy Bishop among their Praetermissi, the French Martyrology* calls him "Blessed," and Chalemot* refers to him as "Blessed of God." (III. 441.)
