SAINT ALBERT OF GENOA, HERMIT
Saint Albert (Albertus), commemorated on July 8, was a Cistercian monk who led the life of a hermit. Distinguished by his holiness and the gift of miracles, he died at a very advanced age. His mortal remains rest at Saint Albert on a mountain near Sestri-di-Ponente (Sigestrum) in the Diocese of Genoa. Large numbers of people flock there to ask for his intercession.
