SAINT JULIA, VIRGIN AND MARTYR OF MERIDA
Saint Julia, (December 10), a virgin and martyr of Merida (Emerita) in Spain, was a faithful companion and close friend of Saint Eulalia. The Bollandists* list her among on February 26 among the Praetermissi (III. 626) as a martyr of Barcelona in Spain. However, in the Elenchus* and also in the Roman Martyrology*, she is listed on December 10 as a martyr of Merida and as an inseparable companion of Saint Eulalia on her way to martyrdom. According to Donin* (VI. 394) she went to her eternal reward in 303. (El.)
