SAINT MARCIAN AND COMPANIONS, MARTYRS

One source mentions another Saint Marcian on April. Saint Marcian (Marcianus) and Companions, Martyrs. This Saint Marcianus is listed on April 16 alongside six companions in the older Roman Martyrology*, though without any indication of when or where they suffered martyrdom. Their names are: Enianus (Antaenus), Felix, Hermogenes, Vincentia, Tertius, and Caelestus (Calista). Perhaps he might be identical with Saint Martialis (II. 406).

PRAYER:

Grant, we beseech you, almighty God, that the venerable feast of Saint Marcian and Companions may increase our devotion and promote our salvation. Through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit, God, for ever and ever. Amen.
