SAINT VALENS, BISHOP AND MARTYR
Saint Valens (May 21), supposedly a bishop (others call him a praetor), who is said to have suffered martyrdom alongside three youths (servants?). The time and place are unknown, although some authors cite Auxerre and Pamplona. Baronius included him in the Roman Martyrology*, drawing from Bede and Ado.
