SAINT STABILIS, BISHOP OF CLERMONT
The name Stabilis means The Steadfast.
Saint Stabilis was the 38th Bishop of Clermont-Ferrand (Arvernensis) or the 41st, according to the Gallia Christiana* reckoning. He lived in the 9th century; his feast is celebrated in Clermont-Ferrand on January 1. Further details are unknown. His feast was formerly observed with an octave.
