| A Monastery Garden - Johann Jelinek |
Saint Carterius (French: Saint Chastier) was a Bishop of Périgueux in France, who - according to Migne* - attended the Second Council of Mâcon (Matisco) in the year 885 (though this should read 585). He is mentioned by Saint Gregory of Tours (d. 595), and there is a church in the Périgord region that bears his name.

PRAYER:
May the intercession of Saint Carterius commend us to you, so that through his merits we may obtain that which we cannot accomplish by our own. Through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit, God, for ever and ever. Amen.
