Saints celebrated on the 12th of July
WELCOME!
SAINT JASON, A DISCIPLE OF CHRIST
Saint Jason, commemorated on July 12, also called Mnason and Nason, was an "early disciple of Christ" from Cyprus. Acts 21:16 states that he travelled with Saint Paul from Caesarea to Jerusalem - where he likely owned a house - to provide lodging for Paul and his companions. He is listed as Jason in the Roman Martyrology* on July 12 and is considered distinct - according to the Bollandists* (June V. 6, nos. 8-9) - from Saint Jason (June 25) who was a disciple of the Apostle Paul. The distinction between the two, originally asserted by the Bollandists Henschenius* and Papebroch*, is also strongly defended by the Bollandist Sollerius* regarding the July 12 entry. See Saint Mnason. (III. 248)
