SAINT JASON, MARTYR OF TRIESTE |
Saint Jason, commemorated on May 10, was a martyr under Emperor Hadrian in Trieste. Please see Saint Primus.
The name Jason derives from the Greek Iason and means "the healer," "saviour," etc. This name was borne by one of the heroes of ancient Greece, known as the leader of the Argonaut expedition that retrieved the Golden Fleece from Colchis. Since he lived in Corinth for ten years with his wife Medea, it is understandable that several Greeks bore his name. However, this name also appears in the Books of Maccabees.

PRAYER:
PRAYER:
May the intercession of Saint Jason commend us to you, so that through his merits we may obtain that which we cannot accomplish by our own. Through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit, God, for ever and ever. Amen.
