WELCOME!
SAINT LAURENTIA, VIRGIN AND MARTYR |
Saint Laurentia (March 13, alternatively July 8) is a virgin and martyr whose relics were discovered by the Bollandists* Henschenius and Papebroch - among those shown to them during their journey from Rome at the principal Monastery of Saint Anthony in the Diocese of Vienne. They discuss these relics, with Saint Maximus at their head, under the date of March 13 (II. 262). Regarding our Saint Laurentia, however, they know nothing other than that she is venerated on July 8, the day on which she is listed among the Praetermissi (those omitted from the main calendar). (II. 530)
