Saints celebrated on the 1st of July
WELCOME!
SAINT LUPIAN, CONFESSOR
Saint Lupian (Lupianus), commemorated on July 1, was a confessor at Rez (Ratiatum) in Brittany. According to Gregory of Tours, he was baptized by Bishop Hilary and is said to have died that very week. Several miracles occurred at his grave: a blind man regained his sight, a lame man the ability to walk, and a mute man his speech. He is also invoked in French litanies. However, it remains an open question whether the Saint Lupian venerated at Clermont is the same one described by Gregory of Tours or a different person; the same applies to the translation of his relics to that city.
