SAINT JUVENALIS, MARTYR
Saint Juvenalis, commemorated on February 23, was a martyr whose relics are kept next to the body of the holy monk and martyr Syrenus, along with the mortal remains of Saint Maximinus, Bishop of Billon in Lower Auvergne.
It is unknown who these latter two were and on which day they are venerated. The Roman Martyrology* mentions a martyr Juvenalis on May 7, and Saussayus* lists three bishops and martyrs with the name Maximinus: one was Bishop of Trier, the other of Besançon , whose feast is celebrated on May 29, and the third of Aix, whose feast is celebrated on June 8; but it cannot be determined to which of them these relics belong.
