  ALL SAINTS CELEBRATED IN SEPTEMBER Saints celebrated on the 13th of September WELCOME! SAINT THEOBALD, RELIGIOUS Saint Theobald, (September 13, February 8, and November 6) is listed in the French Martyrology * on September 13, but in the Elenchus * on November 6. His birthplace is Chaix, parish of Bazeuge ; his year of birth 990. Nothing has been handed down to us regarding his parents.  He studied at the school in Dorat, where St Israel was famous at the time. There he became a canon and treasurer of the monastery. All his efforts were directed towards ever greater self-improvement, never being idle, and constantly keeping God's presence before his eyes.  Because he considered himself unworthy, he did not receive priestly ordination, or any higher ordination. He went to his eternal reward on November 6, 1017. His relics are still venerated, having been brought to safety from the horrors of the French Revolution. Migne * lists him with the title "blessed." A companion of the bishop Saint Paulinus , he is venerated particularly in Lucca (III. 258).   ALL SAINTS CELEBRATED IN MAY Saints celebrated on the 21st of May WELCOME! SAINT THEOBALD, ARCHBISHOP OF VIENNE Saint Theobald is commemorated on  May 21 and July 1 . This holy Archbishop of Vienne in France is also called Thiebaud by the French. His final resting place was in the cathedral church he built in honour of Saint Maurice in 954. SAINT THEOBALD, ABBOT Saint Theobald, commemorated on  June 1 and June 30 , was a Camaldolese abbot of the monastery of Vangaditia [ Vangadizza ] in the diocese of Atri (Abruzzo in southern Italy). However, some hagiographers reckon that he was from Adria, and that he is identical with  Saint Theobald of Provins .   ALL SAINTS CELEBRATED IN APRIL Saints celebrated on the 27th of April WELCOME! SAINT THEOBALD, ARCHBISHOP OF CANTERBURY Saint Theobald, commemorated on April 27 and April 18, was Abbot of Bec (Bec was founded in 1024) and Archbishop of Canterbury since 1138. He attended the Council of Rheims in 1148, despite King Stephen's prohibition. Since 1154, he faithfully assisted King Henry II in settling the political animosities of that time. In prudent anticipation of the impending difficult struggles, he had recommended his archdeacon Thomas Becket as Chancellor to the king. Saint Theobald then resigned, retired and died in 1161 at an advanced age. Quite a few writers list Saint Theobald simply as "venerable."
