ALL SAINTS CELEBRATED IN FEBRUARY
Saints celebrated on the 10th of February
WELCOME!
SAINT SCHOLASTICA, VIRGIN
Saint Scholastica was born in Umbria in the late fifth century, the sister of Saint Benedict. She consecrated herself to God in early childhood, and lived near her brother’s monastery at Monte Cassino. Saint Gregory relates that, a few days after they spent the entire night talking about heavenly things due to a storm that prevented him from returning to the monastery, Saint Benedict saw the pure soul of his sister going up to heaven in the form of a dove. Saint Benedict died in 547; St Scholastica died shortly before him.
PRAYER:
Lord,
as we recall the memory of Saint Scholastica,
we ask that by her example
we may serve you with love and obtain perfect joy.
Through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son,
who lives and reigns with you
in the unity of the Holy Spirit,
God, for ever and ever.
Amen.
