SAINT SCHOLASTICA, PATRON SAINT OF CHILDREN WITH EPILEPTIC FITS - 10 FEBRUARY

ALL SAINTS CELEBRATED IN FEBRUARY Saints celebrated on the 10th of February SAINT SCHOLASTICA, PATRON SAINT OF CHILDREN WITH EPILEPTIC FITS St Scholastica  was the sister of St Benedict. She consecrated herself to God as a virgin and lived not far from the monastery of Monte Cassino founded by her brother. Two miracles, related by St Gregory, have remained famous: they show St Scholastica’s great purity of soul and the closeness of her union with God. As Benedict refused to prolong the spiritual conversation which each year he allowed his sister in a dependency of the monastery, Scholastica’s prayers obtained from heaven a violent storm and heavy rain which prevented her brother from leaving; they remained together the whole night, speaking of heavenly things. The day afterwards, St Benedict saw the pure soul of his sister going up to heaven in the form of a dove. St Benedict died in 547; St Scholastica died shortly before him PRAYER: O God, You caused the soul of Your blessed virgin

SAINT FEAST DAY 10 FEBRUARY: ST SCHOLASTICA, VIRGIN

ALL SAINTS CELEBRATED IN FEBRUARY Saints celebrated on the 10th of February Prayer to the Angels and the Saints Heavenly Father, in praising Your Angels and Saints we praise Your glory, for by honouring them we honour You, their Creator. Their splendour shows us Your greatness, which infinitely surpasses that of all creation. In Your loving providence, You saw fit to send Your Angels to watch over us. Grant that we may always be under their protection and one day enjoy their company in heaven. Heavenly Father, You are glorified in Your Saints, for their glory is the crowning of Your gifts. You provide an example for us by their lives on earth, You give us their friendship by our communion with them, You grant us strength and protection through their prayer for the Church, and You spur us on to victory over evil and the prize of eternal glory by this great company of witnesses. Grant that we who aspire to take part in their joy may be filled with the Spirit that blessed their lives, s
