SAINT MAURA OF TOURAINE, MARTYR
Saint Maura, a martyr at Touraine, died about the time of St Martin of Tours - towards the end of the fourth century - for the truth of the Catholic faith at the hands of the Arian Goths. Among the eight sons who died with her, St Spanus (Epain in French) is the most famous among them: the city Epain is named after him. (El. Mg.)
