ALL SAINTS CELEBRATED IN JANUARY
Saints celebrated on the 5th of January
Venerable Jacopo da Carpi (Jacobus Carpensis), general of the Olivetans founded in 1319 by Blessed Bernardus, was was a physician before he entered the monastery - once there, he turned into a doctor of souls.
He died in 1493 constantly praying the Psalms, which he continued to his last breath. His surname refers to Carpi, a town in Modenese. Bucelin*, in the main works, states that Jacopo is remembered on January 5. In the supplements, however, the same religious is listed on November 5.
