SAINT EPHEBUS, MARTYR
Saint Ephebus, who had come from Athens to Rome accompanied by Apollonius and Proculus, became a pupil of Croton, whose disabled son had been cured by Saint Valentine.
This miracle was instrumental in Ephebus' and his fellow students' conversion to Christianity. Because of their subsequent zeal in spreading the Christian religion, they suffered martyrdom. This occurred around the year A.D. 272 at Terni. On the above-mentioned day the name of the saint is also inserted in the Roman Martyrology*. (II 853)
