SAINT ERCULANUS, MARTYR OF OSTIA
About the year 252, Saint Erculanus (Herculanus) died for his faith in Ostia. He was a companion of Saint Censurinus. Saint Erculanus was patron of a church at Parma, whither his relics were taken. In A.D. 1104, however, Pope Paschal II dedicated this church in honour of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin (II. 518).
