SAINTS OPTATUS, SANCTINUS, AND MEMORIUS
(SS. Optatus, Sanctinus et Memorius, Conf.)
Bishop Saint Optatus of Auxerre (Antissiodorum), who succeeded Saint Gregory, is also venerated on November 30. With him, the two priests Saint Sanctinus and Saint Memorius are listed on the same day. Saint Optatus built the church of Saint Christoph with the help of these two priests, and after they had died, the three of them were buried there. At a later stage, their bodies were transferred to the church of Saint Germanus, where they are venerated together on August 31. Saint Optatus died in A.D. 530. Another of Saint Optatus' feast days is May 3. (VI. 680-682)
