SAINT ALFARD, MARTYR
Saint Alfard (Alfardus) was a martyr in Norway and suffered on the same mission expedition as Saint Eric (Henry). They died for the sake of their faith in 1055. Additional information about this saint is provided by Adam of Bremen who says that Alfard spent a relatively long period underground spreading the Gospel among the Normans, but eventually he was detected and killed.
