SAINT CONRAD, DUKE AND RELIGIOUS
Saint Conrad (S. Conradus), commemorated on February 17, February 14, and August 7, a monk at Clairvaux, was a son of Duke Henry the Black of Bavaria. Despite him being recorded as "buried at Clairvaux" it is highly probable that he is identical with Saint Conrad. In the Roman Martyrology for the Cistercians* he is listed on February 14 with the comment that he joined the Order of Cistercians when Saint Bernard was abbot. According to the Correspondence de Rome No. 44, his death occurred in 1125 (Migne*: 1225), and his uninterrupted cult was confirmed on April 7, 1832.
