Saints celebrated on the 16th of July
WELCOME!
SAINT GRIMOALD, MARTYR |
The name Grimoald - derived from the Old German grim (stern) and bald/vald (strong, mighty), signifying something like "stern lord" was also borne by several Dukes of Bavaria and other rulers of early times.
Saint Grimoald, commemorated on July 16, was a martyred (in a church in today's Belgium) alongside Saint Reineldis and Saint Gondulf. [Some sources claim that he was a deacon.]
