WELCOME!
SAINT MANSUET, BISHOP OF THE BRETONS
Saint Mansuet (Mansuetus), "Bishop of the Bretons", commemorated on March 19, died in Gaul as an exile towards the end of the year 461; he attended the Council of Tours. It is difficult to even conjecture where his episcopal see was located. Dempster* suggests he may have presided over the church in Argyllshire (Argadia) in Scotland, whereas others believe he held no specific see. Judging by his epithet, he may have served as a bishop in Brittany. His biography, written by Adso, has been published on several occasions. The author refers to him as "Saint Mansuet" (III. 2).
