ALL SAINTS CELEBRATED IN NOVEMBER
Saints celebrated on the 1st of November
WELCOME!
Saint Mary, virgin and martyr in Rome under Hadrian, was a slave to the senator (or, according to Buchberger, a decurion) Tertullus. As a Christian, she was scourged, cast into a dungeon, and burned. According to Stadler, she managed to escape and died a natural death, rather than by the sword. According to the Roman Martyrology, however, she was stretched on the rack and torn with iron hooks, suffering a martyr’s death. 2nd century. Her feast day is November 1 (alternative dates: March 17, May 13, May 19).
PRAYER:
Grant, we beseech you, almighty God, that the venerable feast of Saint Mary may increase our devotion and promote our salvation. Through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit, God, for ever and ever. Amen.
