SAINT JULIUS AND COMPANIONS, MARTYRS


Saint Julius obtained the crown of martyrdom along with Saints Victurinus (Victurus), Siricus (Cyricus), Felix, Paulus, Maximus, Victor, Simplicius, Pollio, Vitus, Calendinus, Appollonus, Marciana, Felicissima, Ethemia (Timia and Hernia), Marcianus, Lectissimus (Litissimus), Simia, Germianus, Felicia, Evasia, Gemellinus (Gemellina), Silvanus and other Companions. They suffered in Africa. The names of the Companions vary from martyrology to martyrology; several names are omitted, but other ones are listed instead, e.g. a Saint Honoratus, Victor etc. The Roman Martyrology* mentions none of these Saints on April 26. (II. 415).
