WELCOME!

VENERABLE OTHERIGUS, ARCHBISHOP OF MAGDEBURG

Venerable Otherigus, Archbishop of Magdeburg and monk of the monastery of Corvey, is also known as Othricus and Ottericus. Distinguished by both his learning and his virtues, he deserved, as Bucelin* says, to have become Adalbert's successor. Adalbert was the very first bishop of Magdeburg. However, Otherigus does not seem to be listed in the catalogues of the bishopric. He died on a journey to Rome in A.D. 986. (Bucel. Suppl.)
