SAINT APOLLONIUS AND COMPANIONS, MARTYRS OF TERNI


S.S. Apollonius, Ephebus et Socii, M.M.

About A.D. 272, Saints Apollonius, Ephebus, Optatus, Patus, Saturnin (Saturninus), Frontinus, Macaria (Marcia), Cornelius, Conditor, Titulus, Proculus, Valentine (Valentinus), Proculus, Laurinus, Domnina, Valerian (Valerianus) and a great number of virgins suffered martyrdom at Terni (Interamnae) in Umbria. The Roman Martyrology* lists but a few of these holy men and women, namely Saint Proculus, who is said to have been a bishop, and the virgin Domnina.
