ALL SAINTS CELEBRATED IN SEPTEMBER
Saints celebrated on the 4th of September
According to the Gallica Christiana*, Sulpitius was the 20th in the line of succession of the bishops of Bayeux. He ruled this diocese around the middle of the 9th century and met his death at the cruel hands of the Normans.
After their departure, his body was found under the ruins of the monastery of Val-Sainte (Vallis sancta, Heiligenthal). It was later said that his relics were transferred to St Ghislain. In this case he would be identical with S. Sulpitius Baionensis.
