OUR LADY OF AKITA - 6 JUNE

ALL SAINTS CELEBRATED IN JUNE

Saints celebrated on the 6th of June

Marian Feast Days

O glorious Virgin, Mother of God, blessed among all nations, worthy of praise and the greatest of praise, intercede for me with thy beloved Son. O honoured Lady, Mother of the King of Angels and Archangels, assist and deliver me from every difficulty and danger.

O Blossom of the Patriarchs, the Virgins and the Angels, Hope of Glory, Beauty of Virgins, Admiration of the Angels and Archangels, remember me, and forsake me not, I beseech thee, at the terrible hour of my death. O Star of the Sea, Gate of Heaven, Temple of God, Palace of Jesus Christ, Harbour of Safety, Power of all Nations, Pearl of all Sweetness, Hope of the Faithful; O Queen who shelters the guilty, who surpasses in radiance the Virgins and the Angels, thy presence gives joy to all the hosts of Heaven.

Therefore, O Mother of Mercy, I place in the protection of thy holy hands my going out, my coming in, my sleeping, my waking, the sight of my eyes, the touch of my hands, the speech from my lips, the hearing of my ears, so that in everything I may be pleasing to thine own beloved Son. Amen.

OUR LADY OF AKITA

On June 12, 1973, Sr Agnes Sasagawa  (a convert from Buddhism) of the Handmaids of the Eucharist, in a convent located in Akita, Japan, started to receive a powerful message similar to what the three shepherd children were told in Fatima, Portugal.

HUMAN BLOOD

The statue soon after began to bleed and tears started to flow down her cheeks. Around 2,000 people witnessed the tears coming from the statue. One of those events was caught live on camera and watched by hundred-thousands of people on Japanese TV. The blood was confirmed to be of human origin, as were the tears.

After a thorough investigation, the local bishop, John Shoojiroo Ito of Niigata, approved the apparition to be of supernatural origin.

BISHOP JOHN SHOOJIROO APPROVED THE APPARITION

The main message of Our Lady, given to Sr Agnes Sasagawa, was similar in content to the apparitions at Fatima. The messages focused on praying the Rosary and doing penance for the sins of humanity in order to secure peace for the world. Prayer of the Holy Rosary by the faithful is vital.

PRAYER OF THE HOLY ROSARY BY THE FAITHFUL IS VITAL

“Many men in this world afflict the Lord. I desire souls to console Him to soften the anger of the Heavenly Father. I wish, with My Son, for souls who will repair by their suffering and their poverty for the sinners and ingrates.”

REPENTANCE

There will be worldwide calamities if men do not repent, the emphasis is on the NEED TO PRAY THE ROSARY.

ST JOHN BERCHMANS, RELIGIOUS - 13 AUGUST

ALL SAINTS CELEBRATED IN AUGUST Saints celebrated on the 13th of August WELCOME! SAINT JOHN BERCHMANS, RELIGIOUS   (Patron Saint of Altar Servers.) The eldest boy of a poor cordwainer, in a small Belgian town, John was ever a dutiful, prayerful, and studious child. Our Lord called him when but young to leave his father and his father’s house, to serve Him in the Society of Jesus.  And because he was so good a son, it cost his father much to give him up to God; but he was too good a Christian to refuse outright.  HE WAS SENT TO ROME John had hardly taken his religious vows when he was sent to the centre of Christendom, the holy city of Rome. His modesty, his purity, shone out as great virtue always does; and the young laymen who attended the lectures would come to gaze upon his beautiful and holy face, and go away the better for the sight. GREAT VIRTUE Three short years, and his last sickness found him sighing for heaven, and three days before the great feast of Mary’s Assumption in 1

SAINT UNCUMBER - 20 JULY

ALL SAINTS CELEBRATED IN JULY Saints celebrated on the 20th of July WELCOME! SAINT UNCUMBER Saint  Wilgefortis (Commeria, Kümmernis,[Uncumber]) was the daughter of a pagan king of Provence or Sicily. Her story is found in a church dedicated to her in Neufahrn in Eching, South Germany. She is pictured on the centre peace of the high altar wearing a crown and sporting a beard. The inscription reads: "St Wilgefortis, ora pro nobis." Her legend is related on a board on one of the walls: A pious man instructed her, whereupon she became a Christian. Following her conversion, she vowed to remain a virgin, like the mother of the Lord. When soon afterwards her father wanted her to be the wife of the pagan king Amasius of Portugal, she steadfastly declared that she was a Christian and would never marry a worldly man.  HER PRAYER Enraged by this, her father had her tortured with red-hot tongs and locked her up until she would do his will, and also sacrifice to idols once again.
