Saints celebrated on the 29th of July
SAINT SIMPLICIUS AND COMPANIONS, MARTYRS
Today, we also commemorate Saints Simplicius and Companions. The Roman Martyrology states:
"Also at Rome, on the road to Porto, the holy martyrs Simplicius, Faustinus, and Beatrix, in the time of the emperor Diocletian. The first two, after being subjected to many different torments, were condemned to suffer capital punishment; Beatrix, their sister, was smothered in prison."
PRAYER:
Grant, we beseech you, almighty God, that the venerable feast of Saints Simplicius, Faustinus, and Beatrix may increase our devotion and promote our salvation. Through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit, God, for ever and ever. Amen.
