ALL SAINTS CELEBRATED IN MARCH
Saints celebrated on the 6th of March
The daughter of pious and wealthy parents, Franz von Oichhausen and Anna von Fürstenberg, Othilia (Ottilia, Ottilie) first saw the light of day in the diocese of Paderborn on June 2, 1613.
At the age of 17 she took the veil and soon distinguished herself in all the monastic virtues. Kind to others, she was extremely severe to herself, so that her life was often in danger.
As mistress of novices, for twenty-five years she instructed her subjects with the greatest love and gentleness. She especially had a glowing devotion to the Passion of the Lord, and no less to the Blessed Virgin. Thus, in a lukewarm time, she showed an ardent love for Christ, and died in 1663, having lived saintly in the convent for 34 years (Bucel. Suppl.).
