Saints celebrated on the 14th of July
SAINT ONESIMUS THAUMATURGUS
This Saint Onesimus from Caesarea in Palestine, commemorated on July 14, with the title Thaumaturgus, which is very common among the Greeks, is said to have flourished at the time of Emperor Diocletian (i.e. at the beginning of the fourth century), and to have fallen asleep in the Lord after miraculous deeds at Magnesia.
The story of his birth, his baptism, his alleged monastic life at Ephesus, and everything else, including the blindness of his parents and their healing, seems very far fetched, lacks any authentication and can at most be considered a clumsy illustration of the title "Miracle Worker." (III. 648)
