Saints celebrated on the 30th of June
WELCOME!
SAINT ERENTRUDE, ABBESS
Saint Erentrude is a 7th century Irish Saint, sister of Saint Rupert, who accompanied him to his Apostolate in South Germany/Austria. He made her abbess of a hilltop Benedictine monastery of nuns in Salzburg, known as Nonnberg. After a holy life, she died shortly after St Rupert, on June 30, 718.
A STRING OF MIRACLES
The translations of relics took place in 1023 and 1624; parts of the head are preserved in a precious reliquary from 1316; the other relics under the altar of the monastery choir. The empty stone sarcophagus is still found in the crypt of St Erentrude. Caesarius, a chaplain at Nonnberg, details a string of miracles wrought through the intercession of St Erentrude.
