Saints celebrated on the 12th of November 

Prayer to the Angels and the Saints

Heavenly Father, in praising Your Angels and Saints we praise Your glory, for by honouring them we honour You, their Creator. Their splendour shows us Your greatness, which infinitely surpasses that of all creation.

In Your loving providence, You saw fit to send Your Angels to watch over us. Grant that we may always be under their protection and one day enjoy their company in heaven.

Heavenly Father, You are glorified in Your Saints, for their glory is the crowning of Your gifts. You provide an example for us by their lives on earth, You give us their friendship by our communion with them, You grant us strength and protection through their prayer for the Church, and You spur us on to victory over evil and the prize of eternal glory by this great company of witnesses.

Grant that we who aspire to take part in their joy may be filled with the Spirit that blessed their lives, so that, after sharing their faith on earth, we may also experience their peace in heaven. Amen.

ST BENEDICTUS AND COMPANIONS, MARTYRS

Saints Benedictus, John, Matthew, Isaac and Christinus were disciples of St Anastasius (Astricus), Bishop of Colocza in Hungary, who after the death of the holy Bishop Adalbert of Braunau had had to flee and had settled in a secret place as directed by his brother Gaudentius. 

VERY HOLY MONKS

As the prince Mesco heard of the holiness of these monks, he visited them once. As he arrived, they were devoutly chanting the office in the choir, and the prince was so touched by everything he saw and heard that he had a large sum of money sent to them. 

MARTYRDOM

They, for humility and detachment, went to take the money back to the well-meaning donor; but villains, who had heard of the present but not of the return, attacked them out of greed for money and murdered them all together. This happened in the year 1000. Their bodies were buried in Gnesen.

  ALL SAINTS CELEBRATED IN JANUARY Saints celebrated on the 7th of January WELCOME! SAINT VALENTINE, BISHOP OF RHAETIA Saint Valentine (Valentinus) is the patron saint of the diocese of Passau. The Proprium of Passau relates his life story as follows: Saint Valentine came from the seashore and arrived at Batava, today's Passau. Here he wanted to proclaim the gospel to the inhabitants, who were ignorant of the true worship of God, and therefore went to Rome to obtain the necessary authority from the Pope for this undertaking. Upon his return, he invested much time and effort to gain those lost souls for Christ, as the Pope expected him to. Valentine himself thirsted for their salvation, incessantly preaching the Divine word to them. After some considerable time, however, Valentine realised that all the seed he had sown fell on rocky ground.
