OUR LADY, STAR OF THE SEA - 27 SEPTEMBER

ALL SAINTS CELEBRATED IN SEPTEMBER

Saints celebrated on the 27th of September

Marian Feast Days

WELCOME!

O glorious Virgin, Mother of God, blessed among all nations, worthy of praise and the greatest of praise, intercede for me with thy beloved Son. O honoured Lady, Mother of the King of Angels and Archangels, assist and deliver me from every difficulty and danger.

O Blossom of the Patriarchs, the Virgins and the Angels, Hope of Glory, Beauty of Virgins, Admiration of the Angels and Archangels, remember me, and forsake me not, I beseech thee, at the terrible hour of my death. O Star of the Sea, Gate of Heaven, Temple of God, Palace of Jesus Christ, Harbour of Safety, Power of all Nations, Pearl of all Sweetness, Hope of the Faithful; O Queen who shelters the guilty, who surpasses in radiance the Virgins and the Angels, thy presence gives joy to all the hosts of Heaven.

Therefore, O Mother of Mercy, I place in the protection of thy holy hands my going out, my coming in, my sleeping, my waking, the sight of my eyes, the touch of my hands, the speech from my lips, the hearing of my ears, so that in everything I may be pleasing to thine own beloved Son. Amen.

OUR LADY, STAR OF THE SEA

O you, who feel yourself tossed by tempests, among the reefs of the world, if you would escape shipwreck, do not turn your eyes from the Star of the Sea; if the winds of temptation are let loose, if tribulations rise before you like rocks, one glance towards the Star, one sigh towards Mary!

If horror of your sins, trouble of conscience, or dread of the judgements of God begin to drive you to the abyss of despair, fix your heart on Mary! In your dangers, your doubts, your sufferings think of Mary, call upon Mary! Let her name be in your heart and on your lips, and to obtain the suffrage of her prayers, do not lose sight of the example of her virtues.

You cannot go astray under her guidance; as long as you pray to her you cannot be without hope; as long as you think of her, you are in the right way; you cannot fall while she sustains you; you have nothing to fear while she protects you. We receive all from Her who has given us Jesus Christ. All comes to us from Jesus through Mary.

(St Bernard)

PRAYER:

Most loving Mother of mankind’s Redeemer, our prayer is to you, the gate of heaven, the star of our sea. Look upon God’s people; help us when we falter on the way. For you brought forth, O Mother, while nature stood in awe, as your Son, your mighty Creator. Virgin Mother, then and evermore, in the joy proclaimed that day by the Angel’s “Ave”, show your pity for this our sinful race. Amen.

⚓ We pray in particular for seafarers and for the Apostleship of the Sea. ✝️❤️⚓

FATIMA APPARITION - AUGUST 13 The Fatima Children “BUT IN THE END MY IMMACULATE HEART WILL TRIUMPH.” But in the end my Immaculate Heart will triumph. The Holy Father will consecrate Russia to me; it will be converted, and a certain period of peace will be granted to the world. THE AUGUST 13 EVENTS On August 13, the children were in jail at Ourem. The civil administrator threatened to boil them in oil if they did not tell the Lady’s secret. Though badly frightened, they could not think of disobeying our Lady. In disgust, the administrator finally freed them. A large number of people, not knowing that the children had been kidnapped, went to the Cova for the scheduled appearance of the Lady. At noon, there was a loud clap of thunder. ST BERTHA OF AVENAY, ABBESS AND MARTYR - 1 MAY

ALL SAINTS CELEBRATED IN MAY Saints celebrated on the 1st of May WELCOME! ST BERTHA OF AVENAY, ABBESS AND MARTYR The name Bertha (Berta) is derived from the Old German  bercht, brecht, bert etc., meaning shiny, splendid.  Saint Bertha, a martyr and abbess of Avenay (Aveniacum) in the diocese of Rheims, was descended from a noble family. Married to  St Gumbert (April 29), she obtained her husband's consent to join the monastic life. She then built the aforementioned monastery of Avenay. Following an apparition of the Blessed Virgin, she received many nuns there. Once, when Bertha was silently praying for water for her monastery, St Peter appeared to her and showed her a place where there was a spring, which then began to flow into the monastery in a running stream (ex quo fonte mox rivus egressus secutus est eam ad coenobium remeantem).  Finally, towards the end of the 7th century, she was killed by her stepsons - for what reason is not specified, perhaps in ...
